Maybe this can help you too but I am setting up a brand new database at my host (Tigertech, allow me five SQL databases) and made a new WP installation there - as I'm a network newt and nitwit this seems to be the simplest way - then when it's done I hope I can just import all the stuff from the old into the nice and clean new one.
